Serious Fun Bridge Show 2016March 7, 2016, 7:13 pm

Every day after racing between 3pm and 5pm and on Sunday at 1:30pm, the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta will be making a show out of the bridge openings.

All participants are asked to make a show of their bridge entry, by dancing on the deck, dressing up and getting the crowd crazy.

Judges will be seated on the deck of the Sint Maarten Yacht Club, to score the boats on originality, effort and the best crowd response.

Waiting for a bridge that’s opened, has never been that fun.

The Beer Boat is back! A Tradition Continues!

The 25th Lake Ontario 300, the longest fresh water race on the planet, July 12th 2014.

For the last two years The Yacht Shop has been set up aboard a comfortable host boat waiting patiently at the finishing port of Port Credit Yacht Club to receive the dirty, the tired, and the thirsty sailors who return from this epic great lakes race.

Last year The Yacht Shop was ready with 984 ice cold beers which were handed over personally one at a time by Che Decastro (who gets very little sleep during this) to the returning sailors over a four day period.

Whether it`s at 2am or 4pm sailors have now begun looking forward to this refreshing welcome home from The Yacht Shop.

Hosted aboard a show case yacht, sailors can sit down, tell their story, discuss what they will do differently next time, and just generally decompress.

The Yacht Shop has a connection with Great Lakes Racing and a close connection with Canadian Sailors in general, so when Che stared this out of simple want for a cold beer at  2am three years ago after doing the race it was decided to make it a permanent part of the event.

It has now become a young tradition and The Yacht Shop is privileged to be a part of it.
